CSCI 341 Theory of Languages

Barbara Nostrand, Ph.D.

Welcome to Theory of Programming Languages.  This course explores programming language concepts and tools,  focusing on design,  implementation,  and efficient use.  This course if for future software engineers,  language developers,  language implementers,  theoreticians,  and researchers.  Programming languages constitute the environment in which software engineers construct systems.  Programming languages provide both the tools and the raw materials for their work.  Standardized design components and methods are built into programming langues in much the same way as materials appear catelogs for civil engineers and parts appear in parts catelogs for electrical engineers. l; This is the homepage for the course.
